WE BODIES

WE BODIES is a collaboration of Teresa Vittucci, Michael Turinsky, and Claire Vivianne Sobottke. At the core of their performative encounter lies the confrontation with the phenomenon of the monster - a historical and cultural figure which - similar to the wonder challenges our constructed idea of a natural order: The monster is hybrid, neither man nor woman, neither animal nor human, neither natural nor artificial.

It embodies multiplicity and therefore refuses all kinds of categorization.

In WE BODIES Claire, Michael and Teresa unfurl a series of fragmented exorcisms. Starting from inscriptions inhabiting their own bodies, a choreography unfolds in which monstrous bodily projections emerge and in which the performers reclaim their individual bodies as a self-defined site.

WE BODIES is a coproduction of OH DEAR and Verein für Philosophische Praxis, with Tanzhaus Zürich,
Kaserne Basel and Arsenic Lausanne. In Cooperation with Wildwuchs Festival and WUK Performing Arts, Vienna.
